I'm a Bookworm too!

One of my favorite hobbies is reading.  In school I would sometimes get into trouble because I would be reading instead of  paying attention to the teacher!  When I got the link to LeAnn's World 101 to choose an image to design a card, I knew instantly Bookworm was the one for me!  Except for the glasses, this is so me- an armful of books!

I paired this cute Bookworm with a saying from Technique Junkies.  I certainly believe in living life to the fullest, enjoying every experience and making every day count!

Stamped on basic white cardstock and colored with copic markers.  Then the image was cut out using the square stitched die from Pink & Main. The image was glued to a brown cardstock die cut and a yellow striped contrasting strip placed to the left of the image.  The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white cardstock and added over the yellow strip.  The last thing was twine wrapped around the Kraft cardstock base and tied in a bow.

My Little Lamb

I thought there was nothing better than my children.....until my granddaughter was born.  She is my heart.  I wanted to make her an Easter card and there's no better stamp than the little lamb from the kit, My Little Lamb.  Using the "smoosh" technique added some texture to this cutie.  Isn't she just the sweetest little lamb?!!

I thought she turned out so cute, I made another one, this time using blue colors.  It will be perfect for a baby shower card.

I hope these inspire you to create a card for those you love.

Kitty Makes Her Debut!

What an honor to help a new digi-stamp designer get started in her business. I am now a Design Team Member for LeAnn's World which is now open for business on Etsy.  This first image, Kitty, is available for free today only on her Facebook Page,  LeAnn's World 101.  And don't forget to visit her store for other images at LeAnn's World 101.

Here, I used Kitty to create a card.  She is so cute with those big eyes.  After coloring her with copics, I cut her out.  Using a dark gray card base, I added a printed paper, a midline border paper and a sentiment on white cardstock.   And I can't make a card without a little bling....so I added some peach flatbacks to highlight the sentiment.  I hope you visit her new store and support this designer.

Day 5 of Unity

This last day as a guest GIU member, I'm going to share something with you that's really been on my heart the last few months.    I've been praying and one of the things I've become firmly convinced of is that we need to be encouragers.  We need to lift each other up!  Its one of our greatest gifts.  So my last card to share is a card of encouragement for those who find themselves in bad situations, who have someone belittling you and trying to knock you down.  This is for you!

Cierra Girl, hiding behind the camera, is a girl to reckon with!  With the saying from I Am Woman to show how she is building herself to be stronger woman, this card is for all of those who've had people throw bricks at you and try to tear you down!  Let's quit tearing each other down and lift each other up!  We are blessed and its time to share those blessings.

This was stamped on plain white cardstock, masking Ciera and stamping the bricks using a stencil and Tim Holtz distress inks.  This was cut out using a My Favorite Things die and placed on a standard Kraft base.  The sentiment was stamped using Stayz On ink on clear acetate.  With the addition of a few matching flowers and a couple of strands of twine, it stands out as one of my favorites.

I hope you've enjoyed my week as your GIU member.  Please don't forget to leave comments on each blog so you can be entered to win one of two prize packages from Unity.

Unity Day 4

Oh my gosh, this week is nearly gone!!!  Other than scrapbooking, card making, and photography, my oldest and dearest hobby/friend is reading books.  Both of my parents, my brother and my sister were teachers.  I learned to read before I started school and continue reading today when I get a chance!  This stamp from Unity called Chapter One is one of my favorites.  And guess what's my favorite beverage?  Coffee!  So to combine both my favorites into one stamp, well of course I had to have it!

Don't you just love this stamp?!! I sure do!  It's perfect for a teacher, an avid reader, a book club member, a coffee lover....well you get the idea, you can use it for anything!  Stamped and colored on plain white card stock, the left hand edge cut with a Heartfelt creations border die and the right edge cut with a My Favorite Things die, I then wrapped some brown twine randomly around it.  This was mounted on some printed background paper and then put on a basic chocolate brown cardstock base.
I added a wooden button pre-stamped with "love" glued in the corner, and it was complete.

Don't forget to leave me a comment on my blogs....Unity will award two people a prize from the comments on my blogs this week~awesome!!!

Unity Day 3

One of my hobbies that lead into scrapbooking, then subsequently card making, was photography.  I am an avid amateur photographer.  I love to travel and take pictures of all sorts of things.  One of the most important things you can photograph is your family making memories.  Those memories last a life time.....my children will attest to this fact.  I was so excited when Unity included this camera set in the KOM May 2017.  You can use them individually as well as the trio stacked as the stamp is made.

And how I found some cute paper at Joann's Craft Store that was perfect as the background paper, I'll never know.  Using basic charcoal gray cardstock as both the base and matting elements,  helped calm this busy card a little bit. The sentiment was from Cierra Girl and really says how I feel about making memories being such an important part of my life.

Don't forget to leave me a comment as Unity Stamp Company will give a prize to two people who leave comments during my week as a GIU member.

Unity Day 2

Today's card is in memory of my mom.  Her favorite food in the whole world was a hotdog.  When we would get together to celebrate Mother's Day, you guessed it, we ate hotdogs!  And of course, Unity has the cutest hotdog ever!  He is perfect for a bright and cheerful birthday card!

Frank the Fun Dog also has some pretty awesome sentiments to go with him.  He was stamped on plain white cardstock (Michael's 110 lb) and then die cut using a Gina Marie x-stitched die.  The banner was also a Gina Marie stitched die.  Using a basic red cardstock as both the card base and the mat for the stamped image along with a multicolored background paper made the image really pop!  Please don't forget to leave comments- I will choose two winners from this week's comments to receive a prize from Unity Stamp Company!!

Copics Used:
Hot Dog: E17,E07, E09
Mustard: Y08
